One we did as a class. I posted examples of typical topic sentences I see and we analyzed why they weren&#8217;t effective. As a class, we also have to work on using descriptive words in our writing. I did a from Bland to Grand contest. The students had to write a boring sentence, then take that same sentence and rewrite it using descriptive words.
