Next Steps:

1.  Select 3 students from your class to monitor:  1 Level 3-4 student, 1 Level 2 student, 1 Level 1-2 student.

• keeptrack of the feedback they are provided and how they respond to it

• try various methods of providing feedback, track how you provided the feedback

2.  Small group conferencing:  guided conferencing with students that are struggling on with common needs, regarding success criteria

3.  Only have students write/work on the parts of the success criteria that you have taught and worked on

4.  Create success criteria gradually after each lesson:

• at the end of the lesson, ask students to identify the learning goal, “What did we learn today?”

• build the success criteria  one step at time, as you teach each part

• during each lesson, have students identify what criteria was needed to be successful
