Peter has been using the questions on the bookmark to talk to the students while they are working on math problems, to provide immediate feedback, but also to get the students to discuss their thinking (accountable talk).

The second file “Student Interaction in the Math Classroom” includes the Guidelines for whole class math talk. This monograph also has 5 strategies for encouraging high-quality student interaction during math exploration.
