Working on understanding SC

I have done two class activities that demonstrate my success criteria. One we did as a class. I posted examples of typical topic sentences I see and we analyzed why they weren’t effective. As a class, we also have to work on using descriptive words in our writing. I did a from Bland to Grand contest. The students had to write a boring sentence, then take that same sentence and rewrite it using descriptive words. The winners will get to post their sentences on the bulletin board.
